Luca stared at the security camera, then slowly turned toward Vanessa. “Don’t move,” he said quietly. For the first time, her perfect performance completely disappeared.

Vanessa forced another sob, but Luca no longer reacted. He pulled out his phone and called security. “Bring me the hallway footage. Right now. Nobody leaves.”

Richard remained on the marble floor, one hand pressed against his bleeding lip. “Luca,” he whispered, “I tried to tell you. She planned all of this.”

“Dad, don’t talk yet.” Luca knelt beside him, his anger collapsing into shame. “I swear, if that camera proves you’re innocent, I’ll make this right.”

Minutes later, the mansion’s security chief entered carrying a tablet. Vanessa stepped backward. “Luca, please. You don’t need to watch that. You know what happened.”

Luca looked at her without blinking. “No, Vanessa. I know what you told me happened. Now I want to see what actually happened in my house.”

The footage began. Vanessa appeared alone beside Richard, deliberately tangling her hair, smearing her lipstick, ripping her own dress, while Richard stood several feet away.

Luca’s face went completely still as every lie unfolded on-screen. Vanessa whispered, “I can explain.” Luca answered coldly, “Then explain why my father never touched you.”

Richard closed his eyes as the recording continued. Vanessa could be seen watching for Luca, changing her expression, then running toward him and screaming the accusation.

Luca stopped the video. His hands trembled. “I hit my own father because of you.” Vanessa shook her head. “I was scared. I didn’t know what else to do.”

“Scared of what?” Luca demanded. Vanessa finally broke. “He was going to change the family trust. I thought Richard would convince you to leave me with nothing.”

Richard looked up from the floor. “I wasn’t removing you from anything. I was protecting Luca from documents you had secretly prepared using his signature.”

Vanessa froze. Luca stared at her. “What documents?” Richard nodded toward his study. “Transfer papers. She was trying to move family property into accounts you never approved.”

The security chief returned with another folder. “Mr. Moretti, we found copies in Mrs. Moretti’s office.” Luca opened them, and Vanessa’s last excuse died instantly.

She rushed toward him. “Luca, please, I love you.” He stepped away. “Love doesn’t frame my father, steal from my family, and watch me destroy him.”

Luca turned to Richard, unable to meet his eyes. “Dad… I don’t deserve your forgiveness.” Richard answered softly, “Then don’t ask for it tonight. Earn it tomorrow.”

Vanessa started crying for real. Luca told security, “Escort her out. She takes nothing except her personal belongings. Preserve every recording and every document for the attorneys.”

As Vanessa was led toward the doors, she looked back desperately. “Luca!” He never turned around. For the first time, nobody in the mansion believed her tears.

Luca helped Richard stand, carefully supporting his arm. “I chose anger over my own father.” Richard looked at him sadly. “Then choose differently the next time truth becomes inconvenient.”

By morning, Vanessa’s scheme was fully exposed, Richard was recovering, and Luca had handed every record to the family attorneys. The house finally became quiet again.

Weeks later, Luca sat beside Richard on the mansion terrace. Richard raised his coffee. “Still trying to make it right?” Luca nodded. “Every single day.”
